Face of The Day: On & On Bronze....

I am a Bronzer & Contour noob.

Always wanting to try bronzer, but always finding ones that were way too orange for my pale skin tone, even when tanned! However, whilst browsing Superdrug on lunch break one Tuesday, I found Makeup Academy's Luxe Contour Kit in Medium/Dark & boy, has it been a game changer! So because I love it just a smidgen too much, I thought I would share with you this makeup look.

For base I used Bourjois' Healthy Mix Serum Foundation in Vanille Clair which is a lovely lightweight formula that gives you a small amount of coverage but still allows your natural skin to show through. I love the dewy look to my skin this serum gives, similar to the healthy mix foundation & how it looks like my skin on a really, super, amazing day! Next for concealing dark circles under the eyes, the cult classic Maybelline's Age Rewind Eraser Eye Conceal in Light which is literally a good nights sleep in a small, sponge tipped bottle! For any redness or blemishes/scarring that the foundation didn't cover, Makeup Academy's Conceal & Brighten Kit in Porcelain is my go-to product, as it blends beautifully, isn't cakey looking on the skin & is a perfect match for my skin tone. Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder in Transparent is then applied to my T-Zone & undereyes to get rid of any oilyness & to make my base last throughout the day.

Next up- the whole reason for this post, MUA's Luxe Contour Kit which I apply in the hollows of my cheeks (by doing that whole sucking in the cheeks, fish face thing), on the temples of my forehead & down my neck. The reason why I love it? It is the most gorgeous honey bronzer colour- almost similar to The Bodyshop's Honey Bronzing Powder in appearance & colour, its easily buildable to achieve the desired intensity of contour & it looks great on pale or slightly tanned skin- it is a pale girls best friend!

Now as a lover of radiant, healthy looking skin, of course I had to use my favourite highlighter of the moment by The Bodyshop. Which I applied to the tops of my cheekbones, a little bit towards my temples & underneath the brow bone to really make my skin pop!

For eyes I went minimal & used Benefit's Roller Lash which, don't me wrong I do really like, as it really lengthens my lashes & doesn't make them stick together (a lot of mascara's do!)- but Maybelline's Lash Sensational Mascara is pretty much identical in wand, application & appearance just for a fraction of the price!

Lastly Lips & Newlook's Pure Colour Lip Liner in Apricote is what I chose to round this look off- identical in colour to MAC's Velvet Teddy & fool proof to apply, it is the perfect nudey brown shade to compliment a bronze, glowy complexion. If you find a lip pencil a little too drying on the lips, just add a little lip gloss or balm over the top to keep those babies hydrated!

Healthy, glowing, bronze skin with a dash of mascara & earthy nude lip- now if anyone needs me, I'll be pinning amazing-looking holiday destinations on my Pintrest board!

Much Love,
Elle
xoxo
